Project Overview
This animation was created to explain how the IRIS-DU50 Remote Display Unit functions in high-stakes environments like hospitals. The goal was to clearly communicate how the device integrates with fire alarm systems and network infrastructure to provide real-time critical alerts. I was responsible for the 2D animation and illustration, crafting a vibrant, engaging visual style that made technical details feel more accessible. The animation walks viewers through use cases like emergency notifications, nurse calls, and smoke alarms—demonstrating real-world functionality in a clear, visually appealing way.

Concept & Storytelling
For Audit Labs, I designed a bold, dark-themed interface that instantly communicates professionalism and focus. Sharp typography, clear visual hierarchy, and minimal layout choices helped distill complex content into something clean and easy to navigate.
Accent colors and icons were used strategically to highlight key sections without overwhelming the user. The design adapts smoothly across screen sizes, with mobile responsiveness baked into every layout decision. Every element was intentional, built to balance clarity, credibility, and ease of use.
The animation was structured around key real-life examples from the hospital environment:
• Emergency alerts appearing across ward displays
• Nurse call notifications being shown at central stations
• Smoke alarms automatically updating display units.
• These moments were mapped out through storyboards that focused on clear iconography, smooth transitions, and spatial cues to emphasize responsiveness and reliability.

The Challenge
The IRIS-DU50 system includes multiple connection types (LAN, RS-485) and supports several alert scenarios. The challenge was turning this technical functionality into a clear and compelling visual story that could be easily understood by both technical staff and facility managers.

Illustration Style
A vibrant 2D style was used to bring warmth and clarity to the subject. Soft color palettes and simplified visuals helped avoid information overload, while maintaining a professional look aligned with the healthcare setting. Screens, hospital environments, and interface elements were designed from scratch to feel approachable and intuitive while staying on brand.
